This morning I finished the fifth and latest installment in Butcher’s Codex Alera series, Princeps’ Fury. I have been a fan of them since picking them up from the library earlier this year. I now own 1 to 4 in paperback, all ready for me to read through again.
Back to Princeps’ Fury: it was both [...]

NaNoWriMo, Day 14

My NaNo novel is an unwieldy beast. And by that I mean it’s going well but its plot can easily go in four directions and I’m conflicted but only really conflicted because I am sort of getting to the point of procrastination. I KNOW, it’s day 14, I can’t afford that. But even so. I’m [...]

Last night I finished House of Many Ways, Diana Wynne Jones’s most recent book and the third book set in the world of Howl’s Moving Castle after Castle in the Air. I read both Howl’s and Castle in college, and I am a huge fan of the Miyazaki film adaptation of Howl’s Moving Castle, despite [...]

I just finished The Crown of Dalemark, the fourth and final book of the Dalemark Quartet by Diana Wynne Jones. I think this is going to be one of those books — series — I’ll need to re-read. Gosh, add these books to the to-buy list! I read the first two books — Cart and [...]

I just finished Breaking Dawn. Gasp. I’m still on hold for it from the library… which I should go cancel. My friend lent me her friend’s copy — haha — and so I devoured that between last night and this morning (while managing, might I add, to get a full night’s sleep). I’ve got an [...]

They are officially making a Sword of Truth television series — yes, bloggers, I am late with this news, so sue me — and I am surprised. Not shocked (I mean, it was bound to happen; the books are bestsellers) but surprised. “Legend of the Seeker.” Not so bad, looks like. Also, I mean, the [...]

I just finished From Dead to Worse by Charlaine Harris, the most recent installment in her Southern Vampire Series about Sookie Stackhouse. The book itself was very interesting. Harris is at the point in the series where she can — and did — spend an entire book on already existing plotlines. Drawing them out, concluding [...]

I might have to read Breaking Dawn sooner than the library will bring it to me. Courtney, you shall pay. Pay.
But I am curious. I feel like I’ve passed judgment on the series without being a completionist about it. So there. I shall read it and then pass all sorts of haughty judgments on it [...]

It’s been a while since I’ve really written and there’s no simple explanation for it. I just haven’t remembered. But that’s not to say that things haven’t been happening or I haven’t been reading. Actually in the intervening time between since when I last really wrote and now I finished King’s Shield, I read the [...]

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!
Regarding Acheron. I’m halfway through and I know I’m right. Or well close to potentially being right.
Moving on.
